THE NORDIC CONNECTION
& THE VIRACOCHAS

In ancient Inca tradition it is said that a mysterious race of beings called the Viracochas created the previously mentioned Nazca lines and they were also depicted as Caucasian bearded `supergods’.22 To the Inca and conquering Spanish, Viracocha also meant Foam of the Waves and like Oannes the bearded fish god of Babylonian myth, he too was said to have brought laws and instruction on how the native population should live. In many South American legends these mysterious ‘martian gods’ were credited with ushering in the long lost Golden Age through performing miracles and teaching an ancient science that is now long forgotten. In many accounts the Viracocha were said to use a heavenly fire that could lift huge blocks of stone and many mysterious feats were associated with these hero figures (gods) of the ancient world
